Danilo Türk, former President of Slovenia (2007-2012) has just become the President of World Leadership Alliance-Club de Madrid (WLA-CdM), assuming his mandate on January 1st 2020.
Following his election during the XVIII General Assembly held on 20 October 2019 in Madrid, Danilo Türk will assume the Presidency for the 2020-2022 period with a possibility to extend it another single term.
“The role of Club de Madrid has never been more important”, said President Danilo Türk after being elected in October. “I accept with a great sense of responsibility”, he added. During his speech, the newly elected President laid out plans to enlarge cooperation with International Organizations and NGOs to further promote and defend democracy.
