Dr Danilo Türk receives honorary doctorate from Corvinus University in Budapest
The Corvinus University in Budapest, the leading Hungarian university in the field of economics and social sciences, bestowed an honorary doctorate upon former President of the Republic of Slovenia dr. Danilo Türk.
Dr Türk received the honorary Doctorate of Social Sciences for his scientific work in the field of international law and national minorities, activities for the promotion of human rights and efforts for the protection of international peace and security. He was particularly credited for his work during Slovenian non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council from 1998 to 1999 and his service as Assistant UN Secretary General for Political Affairs between 2000 and 2005.
